An Unusual Psychic in Thailand

I spent all of 2013 in Thailand, happy to be there while I waited to see if my two stem cell treatments would take care of my leukemia. The first four months were at a health spa just outside of Thailand’s second largest city, Chiang Mai. My Arizona cancer doctor was running the clinic there and hoping to arrange a raw vegan diet so those of his patients who wanted to could spend time at this spa and receive healings. I was one such patient.

One of the events that occurred while I was there was the annual Dark Room. People came from many countries and for one to three weeks (as they chose), were given a room to stay in 24 hours per day. All the rooms were in the same building, vacated for the purpose. The windows were shuttered, lights kept off, doors closed, and nobody spoke. Breakfast and lunch were provided to each participant on a tray and dinner was the only time people left their rooms. They then ate from a buffet and nobody spoke. As you can imagine, this arrangement enforced introversion, self-examination, and potential self-healing.

This Dark Room was run by an Australian woman who “lived on Prana”. Her professional name was Jasmuheen. At the time, I was writing weekly blogs for a site I have now discontinued, and one afternoon I sat with Jasmuheen to interview her. Below is a modified version of the resulting blog, which she was happy to have me post at that time. I believe she’ll be happy to have this one posted also.

Jen: Jasmuheen, how did you get started on living a spiritual life?

Jas: Well, I was seven and living in Queensland with my family. I went to a nearby church and received Christian teaching. As I got older, I studied Christ’s life. When I was 14, my beloved older brother was killed in a car accident and I found that I could telepathically communicate with him as he continued living as a spirit on “the other side”. This was an eye-opener for me. Then through the rest of my teen years, many beings who had passed over came to see me – people I had never met or heard of. They somehow knew about me and my telepathy and wanted to know me. I learned a lot from those people.

Jen: Were you still attending that church?

Jas: No. When I finished high school, I found a teacher in India who taught me from the Vedas (earliest writings of Hinduism). Eventually I started communicating with Ascended Masters – spiritual teachers of the highest ability who have passed on – and I worked spiritually with Buddha, St. Francis, Mother Mary (Christ’s mother), and several other spirits.

[Jasmuheen referred to these spirits with a grin as her Cosmic Colleagues. She likes alliteration. She has written a number of books in collaboration with them.]

Jen: What got you started on eating no food? Was your mother a lousy cook?

Jas: (grinning) I just wanted the freedom of choice as to where I get my nutrition. Prana is a name for all the energy in the universe and it supplies abundant nutrition. I’d say I’ve eaten about a week’s worth of food in the last 20 years and it’s been snacks with my grandchildren. I do drink fluids. I’m not a Breatharian which is the term used for someone who never eats or drinks.

Jen: Do you conduct Dark Rooms in other countries?

Jas: Yes, many countries. I get invited to teach weekend seminars and week-long retreats as well as Dark Rooms. I like the dark rooms here. They go so smoothly and the people are trained. That is, they are all yogis to some degree and meditators and they know what to expect in a dark room.

Jen: Someone told me that you’d had cancer three times but cured it.

Jas: Yes. I had a tumor on my liver and then skin cancer twice. It manifested so that I could understand more about this disease and learn more about how to rebalance it back into healthier rhythms.

Jen: I assume you did that rebalancing and therefore don’t expect to get more cancer?

Jas: (smiling) Correct. I am cancer-free now, relaxed, and happy with all I’ve gained.

Jasmuheen does not at all look like a grandmother. She is a pretty woman, slim, blond, not very tall. She exudes good health, good spirits and competence. After the Dark Room ended, some people stayed on to talk and at meal times the tables were pretty full. Jasmuheen moved from table to table, sitting at each one for a while with participants. I never saw her eat or drink anything.

I recently bought one of her books called Harmonious Healing. Here is a short quote from p. 32:

“Clarity and focus are essential in the self-healing game.  The body’s consciousness is like our inner child, only confident in the divine power and its healing ability when we are acting as divine beings. Physical body consciousness is like the youngest child in the family; emotional body consciousness is like the middle child and mental body consciousness is like the eldest child; and the consciousness of the Divine One Within is like the confident parent. A child feels secure and trusting of the parent when the parent is strong, committed and focused … ”

So all of us who are engaged in self-healing, let’s be confident, well-focused and committed parents for our little bodies, our growing emotions, and our maturing ideas.
